Cockroach Janta Party Protest LIVE

New Delhi | June 6, 2026

Hundreds of students and young citizens gathered at Jantar Mantar in the national capital on Saturday as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) staged a peaceful demonstration demanding accountability in centrally conducted examinations.

The protest was led by Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the CJP, who returned from the United States to spearhead the campaign. Participants called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, citing repeated alleged lapses in examinations such as NEET, CUET, and the CBSE Class 12 board exams.

Why the Protest Was Held

The demonstrators alleged widespread irregularities in national-level examinations, particularly pointing to the NEET-UG paper leak controversy and concerns over On Screen Marking (OSM) and revaluation processes in CBSE Class 12 results. Many students claimed these issues had caused uncertainty and emotional distress at a critical stage of their academic careers.

Placards, slogans, and symbolic gestures marked the protest, with several participants wearing cockroach masks and holding flowers to underline the movement’s non-violent nature.

From Satire to a Mass Campaign

The Cockroach Janta Party initially began as a satirical movement following remarks made during a recent court hearing by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, where references to “cockroaches” and “parasites” were widely interpreted as dismissive by sections of the public. What started online soon evolved into an organised protest platform, attracting thousands of supporters across social media.

Strong Student Presence

The crowd at Jantar Mantar was largely made up of school and college students, along with young professionals and parents. Many protesters raised slogans demanding transparency, fairness, and institutional accountability in India’s education system.

Dipke addressed supporters at the venue, urging calm and discipline, and emphasised that the movement seeks reform through peaceful and constitutional means.

Support From Activists

Education reformer and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk also extended support to the campaign, stating that he would formally join the movement if corrective action is not taken by early June.

Separately, a Class 12 student who had earlier highlighted discrepancies in CBSE’s OSM evaluation system also posted messages backing the protest, adding momentum to the growing student-led movement.

Heavy Security, Peaceful Protest

Authorities deployed security personnel around Jantar Mantar, but the demonstration remained orderly throughout the day. Protest organisers reiterated their commitment to non-violence and constructive dialogue.

Cockroach Janta Party Protest LIVE | CJP Rejects Claims of Political Meeting

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has dismissed reports suggesting that its founder Abhijeet Dipke met senior CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat after arriving in Delhi.

Responding on social media platform X, the party termed such claims as false and misleading. In its statement, CJP said that Dipke has never interacted with Karat and has had no personal or political engagement with her at any point.

The post further stated that the ongoing protest is driven by students and young citizens who are anxious about their academic future and are seeking transparency and accountability from the government. It criticised certain sections of the media for, instead of focusing on student concerns, attempting to portray the movement as politically motivated.
